Back to School: How to Transition Our Kids from Summer Fun to School Schedules

Transitions are hard for many of us, but can be especially tough on our little ones after all that summer freedom under the sun.

It’s not all that hard to understand. Who wants to go from the beach and those outdoor activities to sitting by a desk all day? But, just because they are going from one extreme to the next, doesn’t mean we can’t make it exciting and easier for them to adjust to a school schedule and lifestyle. In this article we’ll have a look at a few ways we can ease our kids into that school zone.

Stay Active Outdoors

Just because school has begun doesn’t mean our kids need to sit inside all day. We can make the transition easier and keep them healthy by keeping them active while the days are still warm and long. Granted there will be a lot less time to play, but it doesn’t mean there is no time to play now that they have school and homework to do.

Eat Meals Outdoors

Considering we all love to be outdoors when it’s warm outside, how about having dinner outside sometimes? Whether it’s on your terrace, in your backyard or in a park, eating outside will be fun, healthy and refreshing for them. Especially considering how much time they’ve spent indoors now that they’re back to school.

Back to School Shopping

Back to school shopping will help your kids get excited about going to school. Who doesn’t remember what it was like to pick out your backpack, notebooks and pens? If it’s too overwhelming to take them to the full shop, then at least treat them to one or two options, so they can pick out their erasers and water bottles for school.

We also want to remind you to include their favorite Play Pits deodorant to their back to school shopping list. You can either add Play Pits to your Amazon cart, or you can grab your favorite scents while shopping at Target. You certainly don’t want your kid to be the smelly one in class and neither do we!
